Clinton brought global citizenship message to Berkeley

Many thanks to Lark for alerting us to the latest call for communitarian citizenship!
"BERKELEY — Former President Bill Clinton urged UC Berkeley students Wednesday to practice "communitarianism" by helping improve the lives of impoverished people around the world." Mercury News Feb 24, 2010 http://www.mercurynews.com/breaking-news/ci_14465371

by Mark Mathews
BERKELEY, CA (KGO) -- Former President Bill Clinton brought his message of global citizenship to the Bay Area and asked the question: What exactly is "global citizenship?"

Clinton told a packed audience at Zellerbach Auditorium that the most important question is one that rarely got asked in his White House.

"Most of the time I was in politics we debated three things: What are you going to do, who is going to do it, public or private sector, and how much money you going to spend on it," Clinton said.

According to Clinton, the most important question of the 21st century is the fourth question -- "How?"

"However much money you have whatever it is you proposed to do, how are you going to do it, so you turn your good intentions into positive changes," he said.

Clinton said in the non-governmental area there are immense opportunities that never existed until now.

"Look at what happened after the Haiti earthquake occurred. First you had George Clooney and others putting together this amazing concert 'Hope for Haiti' in no time. They put it together in a week and they raised $66 million. A lot of it was in $10 pops because you could text Haiti in your phone and automatically $10 would be transferred here and $5 in Canada. Amazing," he said.

And people wanted to give time.

"All of a sudden I had teams of doctors from New York who were calling me saying, 'I can only stay five days, but send me down there," Clinton said.

Clinton said global communication has enhanced our abilities and global interdependence has made it a necessity to be involved.

Anaya Roy is chair of the Global Poverty and Practice Program at U.C. Berkeley.

"I think the most important thing he said today here at Berkeley was that it is possible to think about a new moment of communitarianism," she said.

Will Smelko is student body president.

"It makes me realize that there is so much validity to what he is talking about, and it makes me inspired to make me go out and do something," he said.

Clinton spoke at the invitation of Richard Blum, UC regent and husband of Senator Dianne Feinstein, D-Calif.

On Wednesday night, the former president and Blum are at an event in San Francisco at the Fairmont Hotel in support of the American Himalayan Foundation.

Here's the bottom line for anticommunitarians too:
"It makes me realize that there is so much validity to what he is talking about, and it makes me inspired to make me go out and do something," he said."

Here's Lark's full email he sent out to several alternatve broadcasters today:

Americans and their 'Selected Representatives' Really Need to Wake Up...

... And smell the stench. But we also need to help them along... by telegraphing to them that we know what the insiders know... as well should they. Many of them [like us] still don't fully comprehend the scope of the new language.

We're not in Kansas anymore, folks - unless and until... more of us can [proactively] learn to [meaningfully] counter the communitarian arguments [poor agreements reached by consensus]... for continuing along this path toward global governance [serfdom]... the good ole USA... will one day be just a memory. This means our [S]ELECTED REPRESENTATIVES... too... need to speak publicly [and directly] to... the grand designs of... THE PLAN!

Don't ALL Americans need to know about this? This is NOT some kind of trend - it's the reality nowadays! I suggest strongly that someone besides Darren Weeks interview Niki Raapana about communitarianism and the matrix of communitarian laws that have... enslaved all Americans. She has both researched and written about these topics since before 2000; and I know of no layperson... better informed... to articulate what this portends for the average American citizen. When we speak to the phenomenon called [euphemistically] the New World Order ~THIS~ is what we are referring to - it is that well-thought-out... insidious... and pervasive.

Thanks for taking the time to read my message!

~Lark in Texas

P.S. - Scroll down to the latest Google Alerts keyword search for communitarianism. I have been studying this ~ism [and communitarian law] for four years to date. What I have witnessed is that these words appear online more these days than ever before. And the mainstream news media will only continue to keep us... in the dark... for as long as the powers-that-be can continue to weave their spiderweb around us... without "we, the People" (unsuspecting Americans) knowing a damn thing about it! So I have to ask you here ~once and for all~ are we all so undereducated or ill-informed that we can't even SAY THESE WORDS OUT LOUD over the airwaves... and then discuss them rationally? Is it just not that important? Does Bill Clinton have it right?

Meme theory/memetics/Sociobiology, from Lark in Texas

This looks like something that ties into ACL research. Just uploading it, haven't read any of it yet.
Alan, thanks for your reminder about academia's fascination... with study of bioethics. Memetics study and meme theoreticians seem preoccupied strictly with influence and persuasion strategies... and so... they also weave in studies of NLP... political science... salesmanship... marketing... game theory... and war. In the end... it all falls under the rubric of... utilitarianism... since [for them]... always... "the end justifies the means."

Gertee gets more insulation

I did two hours on freedomfighter radio. They were fun. I sure get to meet all kinds of people doing ACL work. I like seeing how other people react, and what kinds of comittments they make to defending individual freedom. It was too cool when Lark called in, and I think it went well.

As for winter gertee expedition.... lots happening there.

Insulating the floor after moving all the furnishings inside is not recommended. In my case, it was absolutely necessary, so I did it. I thought a few scattered rugs would be enough. I was wrong. Plywood and any wood particle board holds ZERO heat. My floor was staying below freezing and two blankets by the bed are frozen solid to the floor. I'm having to work around that. I also got into my "stash" of new materials and put them on the walls. Now my walls have numerous materials and layers: marine canvas, Radiant Guard, Army wool, painters cloths, baby blankets, interior tent plastic windows and cotton, wallpaper, unbleached muslin, pieces of my wall tent canvas duck, Eqyptian dyed fabric, jaquard wool fabric, and the latest layers of white felt and a maroon tapestry. Hopefully I can get it all down before the roof leaks start again. First winter I've ever hoped it stays below freezing for the next three months.

Kitchen floor insulation went down first,
I can walk in there with my socks on now!

I put Radiant Guard over the plywood floor and
covered it with pieces of the wool fabric
off discarded US Army ironing boards.
http:www.RadiantGUARD.com

Then I covered about 45 wall feet of living/bed room floor
the same exact way

As ususal, I do everything backwards, and I swear I don't plan it that way. Part of my problem is not having the right materials when I'm in the process of building. So in a way this is still good research for adapting to certain challenges that arise when you build a homemade yurt with angst for a budget. There are a lot of people who may have to build these out of whatever's available, so it could end up being useful information to sombody. The coolest thing I'm learning is no mistake is too huge, everything can be fixed or it can wait until you can fix it. I wish everything in my life were as simple as this. As long as I "let go" and just accept whatever happens in here, I seem to be able to come up with a way to deal with it. (Of course that's not what I did in the big windstorm when i held on to the post and screamed all night long.)

While this is no longer a completely recycled gertee I do have to wait and carefully plan to purchase my new items. I spend a lot of time looking for the best deals. I also get free and cheap things I'm not always sure how I'll use, like when I got Ron's old big plastic pool he was getting rid of. At first I thought it would make a good roof but it was so heavy I think I need it on the floor next time I rebuild. The heat escapes through the roof but the cold comes in from the floor.

72 inch wide by15+ yards, white felt, ebay $26

Counting the days until I can move big gertee and start using it again. The yard is a disaster as it always is in spring but most things are stil frozen to the ground. Keeping busy inside writing the gertee book and planning pvc gertee promotions. Can't even watch movies anymore so I'm getting a lot accomplished without my computer. Doing my last radio interview with Melodee and Lark on TruthQuest tomorrow at 9pm mtn. Big Mother's Vague Big Society has a Big Bad Bank

Huge thanks to Darren for sending us the link to Alan Watt's July 15 radio show about communitarianism and where I found this link! Cameron sure didn't waste any time, did he? Wow. How relevant does this make my article in the UK Column? (Thanks to Lark for sending the link!)

Nice to see the UK Telegraph cites a poll that backs up my main concern and explains my contempt for the whole cultural makeover these boys have planned. I think their one out of three is stretching it, but we all agree it's an undeniable fact that 2 out of 3 people still do not know anything about how far our social evolution has progressed. How many people can grasp the MERGER of libertarianism and communism? How many people are in the "club?"

David Cameron launches his Big Society

EXCERPT with emphasis added:

During the election campaign, Mr Cameron faced accusations, including from senior figures from within his own party, that the Big Society concept was too vague and intangible to attract voters. Polls showed that two out of three voters had not even heard of it.

But Mr Cameron hopes that putting flesh on the bones of his vision will persuade critics that it can be shared by millions of ordinary Britons who care about their community and are tired of having so many aspects of their life dictated from the centre.

He will say: “The Big Society is about a huge culture change, where people, in their everyday lives, in their homes, in their neighbourhoods, in their workplace, don’t always turn to officials, local authorities or central government for answers to the problems they face but instead feel both free and powerful enough to help themselves and their own communities.

“We need to create communities with oomph – neighbourhoods who are in charge of their own destiny, who feel if they club together and get involved they can shape the world around them.”

The four pioneer communities will be helped by dedicated civil servants who will give expert advice if they encounter legal problems or bureaucratic obstacles.

Officials will also identify local residents with a particular aptitude for taking part in Big Society projects – they will then receive training to become community organisers, motivating their neighbours to take part in action schemes.

They will also be able to draw on the Big Society Bank, which, Mr Cameron promised, would use “every penny of dormant bank and building society account money” to help finance social enterprises, charities and voluntary groups.

http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/newstopics/politics/david-cameron/7897445/David-Cameron-launches-his-Big-Society.html
Now England has a Community Revenue Sharing Program just like Alaska and Kenny Lake! What a coinkydink. I wonder if the same "club" in Britain will be the "expert motivators" as the oh so WISE ones in our little enlightened neighborhood.

Alan Watt is a poet too! I love this bit, and I haven't even heard it yet! Hoping for a good enough connection to download it.

The Chitina Terrain Depot opening May 24, 2010!

We got the deal on the Wayside! I plan on building a 30' gertee to attach to the van with seats, a few gifts, a slideshow and a 16' wooden dance floor in the center. I've got a bunch of old 20s, 30s and 40s lps that I'll play all day long. I'm dancing every day and amazed at how stiff my body has become this past winter. I'm thinking our older customers might enjoy a couple dances before they get back in their vehicles for the long drive to McCarthy. My crew is the same locals who've helped me with the gertees over the years. Fishing season starts on the fishwheels the 15th (I think) and dipnetting opens sometime around the first of June. Still need to find out exactly what the communitarian regulations are about selling/cooking our own fish, but I'm fairly certain we'd have to buy it from a cannery and can't use the fresh fish coming out of the river. Which means I will be able to check into the whole salmon-roe patties idea from Lark. :)
I was hoping to find the time to write an article addressing the Tea Party before I get too caught up in the details of opening. They're still not addressing communitarianism in their arguments and when I asked Gigi on fb how many people she knows in the movement who are aware of the communitarian theory, besides her, she said maybe a handful. They need to know that if they do not address the synthesis they will never succeed in restoring constitutional government.
The problem is many of the Tea Party "patriots" are so embedded in their dialectical side that they refuse to consider their own contribution to establishing totalitarian communitarianism. The right insists on blaming the left as if their side is beyond reproach, when if fact it took both sides to achieve the middle ground between the two. Both sides keep their focus on the other side and never look at the middle "solution," they never question the need for a "balance," which is where ALL their arguments lead. Tom DeWeese wrote an article recently warning the Tea Party people to watch out for infiltrators like Alex Jones and Larouchies. You'd think if DeWeese really cared about our nation he would include the most critical information the Tea Party could USE right now. But not only does he not include communitarians in the movement as the most deadly of all the infiltrators, he endorses one of the biggest communitarian liars in the game, Sarah Palin. The right is just as communitarianized as the left, and maybe even more so.
If you ask a Republican who the enemy is, odds are good they'll name the Democrats. Neither side wants to admit they're helping to establish global supremacy of communitarian law.

Interest grows in anti communitarian theory

The garden view in early spring,
we just had the warmest February on record?

Perfect weather here today!

I'm getting more pleas for a simplified explanation of anti communitarian thinking. Must be because Clinton is going around the country telling us we have to be more communitarian

Here's a response I sent to my mother this morning, with all the typos fixed. :) Please feel free to add comments and share with my mom what anti communitarianism is for you, or anything else relevant to this. My mom is not the only one asking for a simple explanation, and I know that anti communitarianism is defined differently by everyone who understands it. That's the nature of the beast. Communitarian solutions require dialectical conflicts, and we have all been trained to think and fight dialectically. But not all our differences are dialectical, and I know that if we agree on one piece of this, we don't always agree on another. What's the bottom line to you?

Dear mom,
Communitarianism is the theory behind the emerging global government. It over rules all US law and replaces it with communitarian supremacy of law (EU, WTO, NAFTA, etc.) It's been introduced under treaties (Law of the Sea, Kyoto, etc) and under the Administrative Procedures Act of1946 (agency regulations). The blueprint for changing the global landscape is called UN Local Agenda 21. http://nord.twu.net/acl/agenda21.html

The global system is based in self appointed community councils who direct all private and public resources. According to the gurus (and yes Clinton is one of them)all rights to privacy and property are barriers to peace and global prosperity; communitarianism promises all wealth will be gathered and redistributed amongst the poor nations who suffered so long from Western greed and gluttony. This is why Seattle had the new "right" to enter our homes without a legal search warrant. Under communitarian law, ALL individual rights must be "balanced" against the rights of the undefinable, vague community, who have their own new police force introduced under Clinton, called community policing. (I have many recent quotes of Clinton on the ACL homepage, http://nord.twu.net/acl/index.html)

I am opposed to elimination of US law without a constitutional amendment approved by 3/4ths of the state legislatures, as per our constitutional requirements. If this isn't what you wanted or you want to know more, we just restocked 2020: Our Common Destiny. That's the most simplified explanation of the system we've written. http://nord.twu.net/acl/books.html I also highly recommend you read our Anti Communitarian Manifesto, http://nord.twu.net/acl/manifesto, available free online or in hardcopy collector's editions. Part I will be difficult since you have no education in philosophy, but please plod through even where you don't understand it. In the end you will, I promise.

Mom, our thesis against communitarianism has been studied by university students AND professors for eight years... and no one has ever rebutted us. Our work has been introduced in Vassar College Seminars on Quality of Life, it's been included in National Association of Scholars research into communitarian residence life movements. I can assure you I have established myself globally as a credible researcher, I am the expert, and my audience is world wide.

If it sounds like I was bragging too much, I was, but like Kathy says, in our family if you don't brag, nobody listens to you. America is a lot like that too. Raised in American "no brag just facts" territory, I also know my words must counter what other words are often used to describe me, my lifestyle, and my work. I wanted to plant the possibility in my mother that my anti communitarian stand is right and just, that it has value, and that I can claim a certain amount of respect for what I've accomplished. I added that I love her, because I do, but I forgot to add the line I came up with during a radio interview last year: Communitarianism is best defined as Rule By Permit Only.

Been thinking about gertee so much lately, it's hard to get my head back around my ACL arguments. Part of me would rather not, and like I told Susan (who reminded me how many other times I've said this), I am again thinking very seriously about ending this blog and letting it stand as it is. There's not much more I can add to my argument. All I can do is follow communitarianism's rapid global development, witness more people I love fawning all over it and listen to everyone repeating communitarian lingo... what's the point of that?

I have 2 radio interviews coming up, March 14th 7pm CST on Intelstrike with Michael Vail and April 13, 9pm MTN with Melodee at The TruthQuest with guest co-host Lark! Links to both show hosts are on the right side, under Radio Interviews. They will probably be my last ones. Now that everyone in the US recognizes there are new rules, it's going to get even uglier out there, and I just can't imagine following every yukky way this thing goes down.
Watching my people flounder and drown is not how I plan to spend my last years of freedom. I want to live as if there are no communitarians anywhere, make my daily plans as if I hold all the natural born liberties that my constitution says I hold. Like dad always said, "the best defense is a good offense," and I further agree with another Friedrich named List, too.
I do believe the way we take back America is to take back our land, our natural resources and rebuild upon our local industry and agriculture. The US national system of high tariffs and fair trade with equals existed long before the national socialist model adopted by the Nazis.
Communitarian "balancing" eliminates the balance between national industry and agriculture. That's the ONLY "balance" the USA needs. We are still (on the books) a constitutional republic where the legitimate law exists only to protect individual citizens' life, liberty and property. It's always been about the land, and everything on it. The question is, who owns it? Even Lenin talked about that being our only strength as a nation. Without it, without our land and the right to use it and manage it as we see fit, we have nothing solid to sustain us, and our nation becomes dependent on the empire for all its necessities... just like the good old colonial days. Visit any American Indian reservation if you have any question about what happens when you lose your right to control your economic landscape.
So, because I can, I will try to do my duty and part, as an American (and not a global communitarian subject). I will start a homegrown business, create industry and find ways to take our goods to the marketplace. I'm certain I will see how many communitarian regulations my American freedoms violate, particularly since the whole new system is modeled after the system built by our Soviet allies in Israel.

As a freeborn citizen of the state of Alaska, I have the God given, natural right to do it all. I was raised to honor my heritage. I was told to think and then freely act upon my moral obligations, which moral men and women do naturally recognize. I was endowed with great respect for my ancestors, who put their lives on the line to defend my God given rights, because the world holds many men who seek to make me and my offspring slaves. I look at my children and my children's children and I can only weep when I verify the most horrific truths of what the future looks like for Nordica and Nolan, let alone Freddie's generation. I see an America ruled by the same principles ruling Gaza, the ME poster child for universal communitarian peace. I can only live each day with gratitude that we are not there yet, and every day we're not is a blessed gift.
