Community (communitarian) Oriented Policing plays a key role in building a new world. Community police are in almost every nation now, and they are directly involved in ALL Local Agenda 21 neighborhood planning efforts. The COPS suggest new laws that help them gather necessary data. The COPS have the database of every resident's personal information on laptops in their cars. Here's a nice video produced by the Sacramento Police Department that describes how the COPS program was first tested in government housing projects that were left to rot for years. When they introduced their communitarian solution to the police neglect, there were many residents who welcomed it. What the video doesn't tell you is how they expanded the COPS program into the private sector in 1999. http://www.sacpd.org/inside/history/cb02.aspx
In June 2000 I went to a meeting at Town Hall in Seattle, Washington where Jody Kretzmann spoke to a group of community "leaders" about a "new approach" to Rebuilding Communities. I've posted this before and some of my readers are already familiar with it. But since I have so many new readers who are as yet unaware of the process underway, I thought I'd go ahead and post it again. With all the interest in UN Local Agenda 21 now, it might help to know exactly HOW it's being implemented at the grassroots level, globally. http://www.abcdinstitute.org/capacity/
"My time at Public Allies also gave me the opportunity to work with John McKnight and Jody Kretzmann, who developed the Asset-Based Community Development approach to neighborhood development, and that really influenced how we worked with communities. Some of you may be familiar with this approach, but the approach acknowledges that all of us, every single one of us breathing in this community, in this planet, those of us serving and those of us who are being served, that we're all both half-full and half-empty. We all have skills and talents that make us good friends, family members, workers, and leaders, and we also have needs and shortcomings that come along with those strengths. We can't do well serving these communities, I learned with Public Allies, if we believe that we, the givers, are the only ones that are half-full, and that everybody we're serving is half-empty. That has been the theme of my work in community for my entire life -- that there are assets and gifts out there in communities, and that our job as good servants and as good leaders is not only just being humble, but it's having the ability to recognize those gifts in others, and help them put those gifts into action. Communities are filled with assets that we need to better recognize and mobilize if we're really going to make a difference, and Public Allies helped me see that." Michelle Obama, June 16, 2009
ABCD is the program Barack and Michelle Obama were trained in, and John McNight is the guy who signed Obama's Harvard Law School application. Jim Diers was Director of the Department of Neighborhoods when the Roosevelt Neighborhood Plan designated our homes as a pilot test for the COPS' COMPASS database. One primary goal of our pilot test was to find "innovative" ways around the 4th Amendment, identified by SPD Police Chief Norm Stamper as an "identified barrier to the program." Diers wrote a book in 2004 about his experiences there called Neighbor Power. It "describes Seattle’s Department of Neighborhoods and its bold experiments in bottom-up neighborhood planning and development."
"Jim Diers has a passion for building neighbor power. Since moving to Seattle in 1976, he put that passion to work for an Alinsky-style community organization, a health care cooperative, and a community development corporation. Diers was appointed the first director of Seattle’s Department of Neighborhoods in 1988. He served under three mayors over the next 14 years as the department grew to become a national model for planning and development powered by neighbors. " http://www.neighborpower.org/
So what kinds of gifts does Michelle Obama expect us to share? When we are all "mapped and mobilized," these are the things good citizens must perform for the common good:

I watched the Sacramento video on Community Oriented Policing. You have to admit it's a great propaganda film. Besides you Niki, Charlotte Iserbyt has written articles on the Cops program, which is where I first learned about it. Reading about the Cops program in your book is what really opened my eyes.
ReplyDeleteIn Napa, our Sheriff and Police Department have joined together in implementing the Cops program. I talked to our ex police chief for 45 minutes at a Carls Jr. when he was running for Supervisor. He was the one that brought the Cops program to Napa. He claimed there were no strings attached taking the Federal money to implement the program. He then told me about all the community meetings they had to implement the plan. I don’t know how much he really understands.
I was amazed reading the Federal Government Cops pamphlet (the Sheriff's Department was giving them to everyone) how the same partnerships they call for in UN Agenda 21, they call for with the Cops program.
You are right on with your research Niki.
It really is great propaganda, even I found myself thinking it might not be all bad and then they'd say something to remind me of what they weren't saying about the program. My friend who's 15 found it for me last night, came to my room saying, "you've got to see this! it's what you said in that video I saw of you." Funny how many teenagers can so easily grasp the implications when most adults cannot. I'm expanding the chapter on cops now too, and the chapter on abcd HAS to have the Michelle quote; she validated me. :) P.S. I asked Nord to just send you the old books and we can work something out later.
ReplyDeleteNiki,
ReplyDeleteThis is one of my favorite quotes is from Paine's "Rights of Man":
"…Ignorance is of a peculiar nature: once dispelled, it is impossible to reestablish it. It is not originally a thing of itself, but is only the absence of knowledge; and though man may be kept ignorant, he cannot be made ignorant. The mind, in discovering truth, acts in the same manner as it acts through the eyes of discovering objects; when once any object has been seen, it is impossible to put the mind back in the same condition it was before it saw it...”
Thank you and Merry Christmas,
Kevin & Robbi
Perhaps Paine misunderstood the meaning of the word ignorance. Or, maybe he hoped to persuade a targeted audience to believe him.
ReplyDeleteAccording to Merriam Webster, DECEIVE means to cause to accept as true or valid what is false or invalid, ... DECEIVE implies imposing a false idea or belief that causes ignorance, bewilderment, or helplessness.
Webster's 1913 dictionary says; "Ignorance may indicate a willful neglect or refusal to acquire knowledge". How does one willfully neglect a thing which he is not aware of or somewhat knowledgeable of? He ignores it. Ignore means "To be ignorant of or not acquainted with." In law, ignore means to "throw out or reject as false or ungrounded". Clearly, one cannot throw out a thing of which he has no knowledge.
Ironically, it is said that Paine spent a lifetime ignoring the God he had known as a young Quaker.
Kevin, My favorite Paine quote I used at the beginning of an article I wrote in 2003(?) called "The Balance of Man":
ReplyDelete"A government on the principles on which constitutional governments arising out of society are established, cannot have the right of altering itself. If it had, it would be arbitrary."
Merry Christmas to you both too! And you're very welcome.
Bobby, I was told by a scholar from England after I cited him that Webster's is "a dictionary of dubious distinction." :)
I'm happy to see your posts again Niki! I was getting sad with out a usual dose of intellect and wisdom from you (not that I am incapable of seeking out information on the topics you favor, but that you help reduce the time that would be spent in the process). When I find people who exhibit truth, honestly, and intelligence, I make it a habit of seeing what they are up to, so that I may learn from them.
ReplyDeleteIt's insane to see the post on the community oriented policing. Those bad neighborhoods are about a 10-15 minute trip from where I am. And as you say, some of the ideas seem good, but the problem is that there is a top-down influence on the community and the community is begging for it because of the horrible state that it has degraded to. I'm only part of the way through that video, but I haven't heard it mentioned that the CIA/mossad were the ones dumping massive amounts of coke on these communities. Create the problem, wait for the reaction, provide the populace with the predetermined solution.
I've been giving this much thought and I don't know if there's any reason why, in the process of giving out truth, individuals such as ourselves can not make our own goals occur, if we carefully determine the goals of those attempting to control us. Ie: Hijack their own process and shift the populace towards, learning (an absolute must if they are to avoid malevolent manipulation), and self-determination.
It's something to ponder as these swine literally print their own currency and pay for all of the control and misery they heap upon the common masses.

Bobby Garner,
ReplyDeleteThank you for your fine research and articles.
I once had a teacher tell me that I would find more truth in reading romance novels than reading “history books” and somebody’s version of history.
What’s funny about Paine is that the right and left use him in support of their objectives. Look at the Glenn Beck’s “Common Sense.” When I visit Berkeley book stores (near where I live), I am amazed at the numerous books on Paine (and Marx). Because of his later writings in rejection of God and property rights, Paine is a hero of the “left”. Paine wrote Rights of Man in defense of the French revolution, which, unlike America’s independence, led to the rejection of God and the rein of terror—more comparable to the Bolshevik Revolution, not our own.
A couple of years ago my wife and I toured the Napa Valley with Connie Fogal, former head of the Canadian Action Party (and lawyer). We discussed words and meanings, and how words that politicians use are meant to be misleading and mean something totally different to the citizens hearing the words. The word “American” for example means North, Central, and South Americans to many of our politicians, while many United States citizens think of themselves as American citizens.
