'Contraception cheapest way to combat climate change'

The Optimum Population Trust explains their latest Hegelian reason for eugenics:
"Roger Martin, chairman of the Optimum Population Trust at the LSE, said: "It’s always been obviously that total emissions depend on the number of emitters as well as their individual emissions – the carbon tonnage can’t shoot down as we want, while the population keeps shooting up."

UN data suggests that meeting unmet need for family planning would reduce unintended births by 72 per cent, reducing projected world population in 2050 by half a billion to 8.64 million.

  1. Niki, is the communitarian idea that the needs/rights of the group are superior to the needs/rights of the individual?

  2. Yes, it is. They say we must find a balance between the two, even though they are complete opposite systems.

Plus there's the fact that we all know what the word individual means but nobody can define exactly what a community is in legal terms.

  3. Niki, thanks for your reply. I am new at this.

At this point, I would like to propose the following:

Whereas the "individual" is a creation of God, the "group" is anything but....

Unless, of course, the "group" states that it IS a creation of God.

Then, under that circumstance, the group IS (at least) EQUAL to the individual (both being God's creations).

And then, with an additional logical extension, the group could be construed as being "greater" than the individual.

With this formula, one might conclude that "communitarianism" is descended from the notion of a God-created group.

Niki, please give me your reaction to my musings.

  4. Jeff, I've never thought of it in these terms. I don't know if any one them have tried to claim the group was created by God.

Everything I've found tells me they think the community/state is God himself, not that their more moral group was created in God's image. But since they lie, anything is possible.

Would saying the group was created by God negate the monotheism of the one God, if God is worshipped as the group creating God? No idea.

Besides Hegel saying the state is God and the New Agers saying they are in training to become Gods, can't think of anywhere where they claim the group is God except for AA. But I've never been to a real communitarian pagan ceremony so I don't know any of their details. All I have to go on is their published works, their PR crap.

You've nailed a critical piece here, further proof that even when we assume don't know anything about it we know a lot more than we expect ourselves to know. And likewise, in my case, where the more I learn, the less able I am to see through the cracks.

As for the article I sent out to my community, it's freaking me out that not ONE Christian preacher or any of their flock have shown any interest in this discovery. I sub leased my property to my new neighbors who are "traditional" Catholics. They left their church because it had 501c3 status, but they've retained all their core beliefs and I repect them a lot. I just asked them to please find us an old traditional Priest who will come battle these demon spawn for us. Now that I know for sure what sustainable developers believe in, I'm very interested in having strong, devout religious people in my neighborhood whose belief in Lucifer's agenda may give them the tools to fight these snakes.

Everyone will tell you Kenny Lake is a "Christian community." They control the businesses, stopped the Merc from selling beer, stopped Gilpatricks from selling liquor, all in the name of keeping evil out of the community. But the Christians also totally support the local Luciferian's plans for sustainable development? So I can't trust any of these holier than thou Protestants to step up to the plate. My mom would have another heart attack if I became a Catholic so I can't join, but do Priests protect fringe non Catholics like us from Lucifer too?

  5. I'm thinking in terms of a group who believes it has been "chosen" by God...as in the chosen people. Or in the case of Jesus - he formed a group of apostles who then, in turn established the Church. Since Jesus was God's son, his apostle group and his Church were God-created. In the case of Muhammed and Joseph Smith, they set up groups based on input from God's angels. These are the ways that a group can be on a par with a God-created Individual. At least in theory. In actuality, for me, only an Individual is for-sure a Creation of God.

  6. But answering, He said, Every plant which My heavenly Father has not planted shall be rooted up. Leave them alone. They are blind leaders of the blind; and if the blind lead the blind, both will fall into a pit. And answering, Peter said to Him, Explain this parable to us. But Jesus said, Are you also still without understanding? Do you not yet perceive that everything entering into the mouth goes into the belly, and is thrown out into the waste bowl? But the things which come out of the mouth come forth from the heart, and these defile the man. For out of the heart come forth reasonings, evil things, murders, adulteries, fornications, thefts, lies, blasphemies. These things are the things defiling the man.
