"[W]e're now in a position to begin again," he said. "It's not a leftward movement. It's a forward, communitarian movement." Communitarianism is a movement that considers individualism an impediment to society uniformly adopting values the movement considers appropriate, including authoritarian gun control. For example, the Communitarian Network platform states "there is little sense in gun registration. What we need to significantly enhance public safety is domestic disarmament of the kind that exists in practically all democracies." Former President Bill Clinton quoted 2/6/09 by NRA-ILA http://www.nraila.org/Legislation/Federal/Read.aspx?id=4405
What else can Bill Clinton tell us about communitaian values? Why do communitarians profess to care so much about our "health?" Clinton's Global Initiative is at the top of this list:

Hi. I've been lurking for a while and just wanted to check in. I've been enjoying your informative posts. I'll admit, I don't always understand ALL of it, but I'm getting the general picture. Thanks for keeping us informed! You're doing a great job!
ReplyDeleteI appreciate you checking in, it's nice to know some of my silent readers are friendlies. and don't feel bad, I don't understand all of what I write either. :) You're very welcome for any help it's been.
ReplyDeleteI regularly participate in an Internet forum run by our state right-to-carry group (IowaCarry.org). I've begun using that Clinton quote as my signature block on the forum. I've highlighted the word "communitarian" bold letters and the phrase "domestic disarmement" in red letters.
ReplyDeleteI'm trying to get people to take notice.
